When good things happen, it’s so important to celebrate your wins! I can’t believe it’s been just over a month since I launched my brand new blog site. I wanted to share so much more than the Couture Diva blog would allow, so it was an absolute must for me to create something new in order to share more of my world with you. After months of planning, designing, tweaks, and updates, the site went live and I couldn’t be happier with it! The timing was perfect too, because the weather had just started to warm up, and I was in the mood for a party. And what better way to celebrate this accomplishment than to throw a chic Launch Party & Trunk Show!
I attended a book signing for radio host Danni Starr a few months ago where I met event planner Kevia Matthews. She was an absolute joy to work with! Not only did she help me plan a fashionably fun party at a really chic venue, but the service from her staff was top notch. She comes highly recommended! Please visit Kevia’s Kreations if you are in need of event planning services.
I hosted a Pre-Summer Trunk Show for Couture Diva to showcase the “new new” in for the Summer season. Partygoers shopped it up at special discounted prices, and got first dibs on accessories that haven’t even made it up on the Couture Diva website!
It had been raining the entire week before the party! I kept praying that God would keep the rain away, and thankfully it held up for the event! I was humbled, excited, and most of all appreciative of EVERYONE who came out to support my event! Folks traveled from Washington DC and Baltimore to be there, and I’m happy that they had a great time.
My family bears the brunt of my #Girlboss dreams. I’m not as available as I’d like to be, and I’m frequently stressed out from juggling so many balls. My husband Greg is the most supportive person I know!
Any dream or idea I go to him with, his response is always “go for it”!
It was great to see my sons partying and having a good time, though they were there neither for the shopping, nor the fashion, LOL! I want them to see my hustle and grind, and I also want them to see the product of what hard work will bring. They got to see Mommy in her element, and it made me feel so good!
For the party, I wanted to wear summer florals, preferably a dress. And I needed to be able to coordinate it with the Wakanda inspired necklace I decided to wear (new in at Couture Diva). Unfortunately, I left my shopping trip to the last minute and had to rely on the mall (gasp!), and a few of my fave brick and mortar stores. I found this beautiful Topshop dress buried deep on a sale rack at Nordstrom Rack. It was on sale for $52, but I ultimately got it for $15! Winning! Similar dress and outfit details are below.
